I shut down my desktop pc down every night. When I start up in the morning I get to the black screen with the blue window logo and there it stays. If I hold the power button to shut down again, when I restart the second time, I get to the same window, but this time the busy indicator appears and it boots normally. This happens every time after a shut down. A restart for updates or whatever always boots normally.

I researched this once before but cannot remember what the fix was. I thought it was a setting in msconfig, but I don’t recognize anything. Something about a fast boot or something. I went back to windows 8 for awhile that’s why I can’t remember the fix. Am I ringing any bells? This is not a big deal but I know there is a fix so it bugs me.

    Thanks

Click on “This Article” in Ted’s post just above yours.

As Browni states the “This Article” is a link to the actual page that shows the info you want. The link actually points to a thread in EightForums.

Sorry, I missed the font color difference. Turning off the fast boot did the trick. I knew it was something simple, I just couldn’t remember. I appreciate your help.
