      Hey Woody,

I’ve acquired Windows 7 and I intend to do a clean install on my netbook (my primary computer, sadly) that runs XP. I don’t have a large enough usb drive (I’ve heard 4g + is required) to install from that. My question is: Is it possible to partition a drive and then install it from that? Any help (link to a trustworthy guide, perhaps?) would be great.

      Mike –

Yep, the USB drive has to be 4 GB or larger. But you only need to borrow one.

To partition and install from a hard drive, you would have to boot from an ISO file. That may be possible, but I’ve never done it. Google is your friend…
