I use Windows 7 on my PC and, as of today, I still have not received any notifications about the monthly security rollup updates for August 2018.  Has this been delayed?

It’s the second Tuesday of the month before these are issued, another five days to wait.

Just for clarity’s sake: Neither Woody, nor Susan Bradley, nor any of the MVPs are advocating installation of *any* of the July 2018 Windows Updates, across all (7, 8.1, 10) versions, for Groups A, B, or any other “Groups?”?

@anonymous and no, I am not seeing any recommendations in here either for July’s, here’s my personal rundown or take. Win10 Pro 1709 (home) still on 30 days deferral, Win10 Pro 1803 (work) marooned in early June with 30 days deferral set. Win7 Pro x64 and x86 (home) July’s UD’s some still unchecked. .net 4.7.2 was installed a bit back (May?) as a standalone so just the update outstanding again unchecked, Win8.1 all checked probably good to go but waiting for the general OK round here. As Susan remarked on her Radio podcast and the general consensus in here, July was a disaster month. Considering a 2 Month rollover here, really wont make any difference as theyre cumulative but it may give M$ a chance to get their act together.

Hi there…thought I had received all the Important Updates for W7, but Microsoft just posted another Important Update, KB 3177467 (just popped up without warning)… several users are expressing concern …does anyone know if this one is safe to download or not… trying desperately  to keep only Security Updates on my W7 Pro Desktop & W7 Home Laptop…no W10 & no Telemetry junk & avoiding massive ‘Rollups’…please help….Ardvark

KB 3177467 is a servicing stack update that does not appear until all patches in Windows Update have either been installed or hidden… Servicing stack updates have not been found to contain telemetry and I haven’t noted any problems associated with them. You can put the KB number in the ‘Search the Lounge’ box on the right side panel, and see where this question has been discussed or answered previously.

The updates I got were for Oct 2018 and the Patch Lady said W7 Security Patch kb 4462915, W7 IE11 patch kb 4462849 for Group B (W7 maintainers) were ok… planned on using those two, so hid everything else…. them new on mentioned in my last post, kb 3177467, popped up ii nthe Important Section…what gives? …Ardvark
