They are all the games that come with Windows 7. They stopped working when I installed the latest Windows 10 build, but worked again when I copied the Microsoft Games files from Windows.old to the Microsoft Games folder in Windows 10.

It’s a 147 MB D/L in a zip file. I scanned the zip with MalwareBytes and Win Defender and they found nothing wrong.
Once unzipped, you have an installer and on the install you can choose what games you want to install. I only chose 4 games which came to 180 MB installed.
Nice to have the older games with no MS store involved.

I used to think that way, also. But the games from the MS Store are much better, and all your statistics are automatically saved.

That’s nice that you are happy with MS store games. Personally I like playing solitaire with no ads and with the look I’m familiar with.:)

I hear you. I’m all for improvement when it’s actually better. Sometimes the “improved” versions of things are distinctly worse though. And statistics, do you mean high scores? Really, I don’t much care if any given set of high scores is lost. That’s a very minor part of the game for me.

I have tried the Windows 7 games for Windows 10, and they do not look the same. Actually the visual presentation sucks. You are right, sometimes the improved versions are worse, but not in this case. The statistics I am speaking of are won/lost. Also, the ads only appear in one spot, and NOT while game is being played, so they are very unobtrusive. I did use the 7 games for a while, but now I like the games from the store much better. The improved versions of the games are infinitely better in my opinion.

DJ, is “infinitely” now a synonym for marginally, visually… ?

Not in the English language. Infinite means without bounds. It does not take a genius to recognize that the UI of the Microsoft Solitaire Collection from the store is much more pleasing to the eye than the Windows 7 UI, especially the one which has been modded for rs1. The new W7 games which have been modded for rs1 only vaguely resemble the originals.

Evidently ( from your opinion ), I am unfortunately not a genius. Thanks again for your opinion. 😉

I downloaded and ran the file msgames_win8_x64.msi from https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0BxgxYnZOV7L7aUxtLXNwbENZbm8&export=download , and then the games were back as before in Windows 10. The download was about 88 MB. There is also a 32 bit version at https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0BxgxYnZOV7L7eHZEOHBlakl0RVE&export=download .
