I have run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and my PC2 is compatible for Win7. Downloaded W7 a few days ago and have installed it this afternoon. No problems so far, but I am used to seeing the file extensions and using a sinle click on files – rather than a double click. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to turn this on please?

I moved your post to the Beta Software forum since Windows 7 is still in beta.

      – Select Start | Control Panel.
      – Open the Folder Options control panel.
      – In the General tab, click “Single-click to open an item (point to select)”.
      – In the View tab, clear the check box “Hide extensions for known file types”.
      – Click OK.

Or use Windows Explorer – Organize | Folder and Search options. Then the same General & View steps as Hans posted.

After the refresh of the Forum, we still seem to have the glitch of seriously ancient topics being revived.  This comment is on a topic on “Windows 7”, where the latest post, apart from mine, dates from 8 July 2009.  What put this thread into “Recently Active Topics” was a post from “anonymous” about two-and-a-half hours ago.  It would be a pity to fill R-A-T with posts such as these.  A bit like forum spam.

This thread has been resurrected by anonymous spam on four separate occasions during the last two weeks, but we’re currently told that nothing can be done about automatically-filtered spam causing topics to be listed as recently active.
