    I updated to Windows 24H2 today on my Lenovo Yoga6 and afterwards the touchpad does not work.  My bluetooth mouse still works.  Device manager shows an exclamation point under Human Interface Devices for entry I2C HID Device.  When I open this item’s properties it says “This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    A request for the HID descriptor failed.”

    On the property Events page it says “Device settings for ACPI\SYNA2BA6\4 were migrated from previous OS installation” with today’s date.

    I uninstalled the driver and restarted Windows, but the exclamation point entry for this device remains.  I went to the Lenovo downloads page but it found no new drivers for the laptop, and no drivers for the touchpad listed.  I went to Windows update but it found nothing new either.

    It looks like Windows 24H2 was the culprit. Any suggestions appreciated.

      On the Lenovo try reinstalling the firmware/bios.  I had one Lenovo that lost a driver and even though there was no new software, reinstalling the firmware did the trick.

      @gtd12345, did this work? I’m struggling with a similar issue on my Lenovo T480s, but it’s a little more complicated because the touchpad is a mod (glass trackpad for a Yoga X1 Yoga Gen 3 with drivers for that machine).

      @Susan
      , what is the best way to reinstall the firmware and BIOS? I tried using Lenovo System Update but it wouldn’t let me uninstall and reinstall. It didn’t let me do anything because it was supposedly already up to date.

      Sorry if it’s a dumb question for an IT pro!

        As I recall I had to force to go back a version, install that and then reinstall the main bios update.
