Using Rufus 3.20, I was easily able to install Windows 11 on this Acer laptop (which was made in 2010). Notice the CPU is a first-gen intel i5-580m (3Mb L2, 2-cores, 4 threads, hyperthreading, 2.67Ghz-3.2Ghz). I used Rufus to remove all the TPM/RAM/CPU requirements. W11 runs like magic on it.

Rufus configuration details on how to void Microsoft requirements (along with other stipulations such as UEFI and NTFS) would have been useful.

      Not really needed.

Once you download the Windows 11 ISO, Rufus “automatically” sets the proper formatting options for a Windows installation (GPT partition, UEFI target system and NTFS file system) and, once you click the START button at the bottom, you get the following popup with all those options already selected.

      RufusOptions

BTW, if you download a Win10 ISO instead, it does the same thing except the first 2 options in the popup (above image) aren’t shown because they don’t apply for Win10.

My computer is a 10 year old Dell XPS 8300.

Actually I have a legacy Bios and a 1 terabyte SSD with MBR partitionning.

So my question is: When I make my Win 11 USB installation key with Rufus, do I select MBR or GPT.
