And if you just want to download the Windows 10 ISO file, set your browser to a non-windows agent and start here. For example, in Firefox you can create a new string in a new tab opened to about:config named general.useragent.override and set it to migaVoyager/3.2 (AmigaOS/MC680x0).
The that brings you to the Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) web page which has this interesting message:
“Mac customers using Boot Camp: Instead of performing a new install of Creators Update, download and install Windows 10 Anniversary Update ISO. Then install the Creators Update via the normal Windows update process. For more details click here.”
The Select edition gives these options for the Creators or Anniversary Update:
Select edition v Windows 10 Creators Update Windows 10 Windows 10 N Windows 10 Single Language Windows 10 Anniversary Update Windows 10 Windows 10 N Windows 10 Single Language
For the English plain Windows 10 Creators Update the 64-bit and 32-bit ISO files have these properties:
Filename: Win10_1703_English_x64.iso Last-Modified: Sun, 19 Mar 2017 04:04:23 GMT Content-Length: 4334315520 MD5: effccfda8a8dcf0b91bb3878702ae2d8 SHA-1: ce8005a659e8df7fe9b080352cb1c313c3e9adce Filename: Win10_1703_English_x32.iso Last-Modified: Sun, 19 Mar 2017 00:27:42 GMT Content-Length: 3232196608 MD5: e6c8bd404dd95a286b3b3ef3a90e2cb34 SHA-1: 1af7b5b5914b718c3f2f6e58907f51c36f8a03c1

AskWoody LoungerApril 6, 2017 at 5:21 pm #106984The useragent on the Linux version of Firefox also allows you to access the full MS ISO download site. It seems that they are offering both versions of Windows 10 at this time. Anniversary and Creators update.
You can also get a Firefox extension called “User Agent Switcher”to quickly and easily change your browser’s user-agent. There are 26 popular user-agent strings to choose from!

AskWoody_MVPApril 6, 2017 at 1:04 am #106839They use that “Update” terminology on purpose, even though it’s upgrading, just to support their WaaS concept regardless 😉
even MSDN download use similar wording:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/?FileId=71645“Windows 10 Pro, Version 1703 (Updated Mar 2017) is the latest version of Windows 10 Pro. It includes all updates released for Windows 10 Pro since version 1607 (updated Nov ’16), including security and non-security updates.”

AskWoody LoungerApril 6, 2017 at 7:29 am #106880Wonder if they are going to do the usual offer this time round?
If you create your .iso file using the .iso downloader from M$, specifying single languge version, create .iso for another machine i.e. not on your own, better done on another machine but not essential, dont use M$’s suggested settings.
They throw in the Education and/or Pro version as well. Its a bit of work to do basically when you get your .iso extract the files with 7zip run the DISM /get-wiminfo cmd and have a look at the install.wim. If its there just create a blank ei.cfg file with VL & OEM in there. Save as all files throw it in the sources folder remake the .iso file with the extracted files and you get a choice at setup with a clean install or pick the relative index using DISM /apply-image.
Not doing the full cmd”s as last time @woody had to edit them, Sorry Woody 🙂

AskWoody LoungerApril 6, 2017 at 9:27 am #106895Hi-
I am currently running Windows 10 Home Ver. 1607. Yesterday, I decided download Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant 28085 (File Version:1.4.9200.17384) from Microsoft. I ran the Assistant thinking I’d be “upgraded” to the Creators version of Win 10 (Ver. 1703). Well, all I got, after the Assistant had “successfully” completed its activities (including restarts), was a reinstall of 1607. I would really like to know what is going, or what I did wrong. Please comment. Thanks.
