Windows 10 Taskbar Icons Going Missing

I first noticed this around two months ago. It seems to be getting gradually worse. It first started with the Google Drive taskbar icon going missing from the taskbar. The on/off toggle for the taskbar icon is selected/deselected via, “Select which icons appear on the taskbar” (in system settings). At this writing Windows 10 doesn’t care whether or not the toggle is on or off. Google Drive doesn’t show in the taskbar.

And this morning I noticed that a couple of other taskbar icons had gone missing, including APC’s PowerChute. A system restart and off/on toggled in the “Select which icons appear on the taskbar” solved those. But it didn’t solve the missing Google Drive icon.

What will solve this/these, please? Merci.

Thank you. And I’m interested in the fixes which are proven to work by the experienced wizards hanging out at this site. Because I’m not a full-time computer engineer, I’m comparatively uninterested in experimentation on an OS which sometimes has mysterious bugs.
