Good one. I missed about half of them since very early on I do things like replace the dumbed-down Windows Start Menu with Classic Shell, and tweak with either instructions from my own book, my re-tweaker script (where I accumulate the tweaks I’ve learned), or an application, for example WinAero Tweaker.

The simple fact that we’re gradually losing overt control over Windows and have to discuss undocumented registry settings makes Windows 10 unacceptable for those who wish to retain control over their systems – which is not an evil thing to desire!

In the slide about adding an item to the All Apps List in the Start Menu, you say that you can’t just add items to the folder located at (and I paraphrase here):

      %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.

Has this changed since this article came out, showing exactly how to do just this?

Last I checked, all you have to watch out for when doing this is to make sure the path is one which Windows File Explorer recognizes as an Executable.
