When will Microsoft end support for Windows 10?

My home-built computer is over 6 years old, upgraded with an SSD and larger hard drives for storage.  It works just fine for most of what I want, but I need an upgraded computer.

The issue is that I am getting old and I built this so long ago I have forgotten a lot, and all the hardware (MOBO, processors, memory etc) have changed.  Help is hard to find.

But, if pushed, I will build a new box.  But when MUST I build a new box?

    When will Windows 10 expire?

        Which build?

If you actually take a look at the link @b posted, you’d see there is no specific build related to that date. The chart simply shows the Retirement Date for Win10 Home & Pro as 2025-10-14T22:59:59.999-08:00.

BTW, they only issue expiration dates for “new versionsnot specific builds, and their standard EoS (end of support) for each “new version” is 18 months.

So, calculating backward using their 18 month EoS, the “new version” that’ll expire by Oct 14 2025 won’t actually be released until sometime after Apr 13, 2024 and, since they changed their release cycle for “new versions” to the 2nd half of each year, it’ll probably happen sometime in the Sep – Nov 2024 time frame.

Also, unless they completely change the version naming scheme they’ve been using, it’ll likely be Windows 10 version 24H2 (build 19047.???)
