Windows 10 – display bigger than monitor

When I started my Windows 10 PC 2 days ago, the display by Windows 10 was bigger than my monitor. First time this has happened in 4 years!

Symptoms, when I maximize a window, I cannot see the top or bottom.

When I press CTRL ALT DEL , I cannot see the Shut Down, Log out or Reboot options

 

Oh yes, the aspect ratio is all S___d up as well

My bet is on scaling. It can be set on some monitors by buttons on that monitor – go to monitor menu and try to adjust height and width if possible.

Some graphic adapters support scaling too, you can try from system tray icon to your graphic card. Mine is integrated, but still can do this. See screenshots 001=before scaling, 002=after scaling.

I used to do scaling, when screen was not fitting my display edges.
Maybe you can also try to set different resolution to see whats happening.

Solved!

It was the monitor – I was focusing on the operating system.

I went to the monitor controls and reset the monitor. Worked!
