      Woody:

The cynical among us are probably not surprised … this is the era of Windows as a (dis)service: software that’s never finished, “Improvements” that remove things that used to work (i.e. easily turning off Cortana), and patches that introduce new problems that require even more patches down the road.

For the sake of those who want to use Windows 10, I sincerely hope that Malwaresoft gets their act together soon.

As for me (and maybe others who want nothing to do with this product), I’m content to watch this never-ending cycle of silliness from a safe distance.

I think this is related and just posted on one of the Windows official blogs

      Thanks! I hadn’t seen that…

      Conspiracy theory, anyone?

It just struck me: very odd that one of the very first extensions for Edge to be rolled out would be for a popular password storage / password minder…

Is it not enough that Win10 already snoops quite a lot, under the guise of trying to be helpful of course, that it would also want to store all our passwords in Redmond, and maybe pass them on to whatever 3-letter agency you care to think about?

      Naw… I must be paranoid or something…

Naw. The lack of LastPass is probably the #1 reason why people won’t use Edge. For many people – including me – it’s a prerequisite for any serious browser use.

Ah I see. To each his own system I guess.

For many security reasons, I would never use or even consider a password app plugged directly to a browser that is exposed directly to the WWW. I use KeePass locally but, granted, “look it up and retype it” is certainly not too efficient -;)
