      thank goodness for 1511 😀

well enjoy the v1511 release while you can – MS hasn’t yet announced the EOS (end of servicing) for that one but may occur sometime in the autumn of 2017.

On W10 1607 AV both the Adobe Flash patch and April Malicious Software Removal Tool initially fail to install, the CBS log shows missing file errors and ‘Failed to internally open package’.

I cannot yet find any separation between the first and second attempting the installation of Flash Player.

I can only guess that version numbers didn’t get synchronized before the patch Tuesday release or maybe key some components are from internal builds.

I did not install KB401521, the version number shown is 14393.969

No, installing KB4015438 would not lower the OS build version

as why he gets it, either his WU database is not intact, or he is an insider

he probably should clear the WU database file (datastore.edb) from the Windows\Softwaredistribution folder and retry the update. I do this on some occasions.

I never install win10 based flash player updates from WU. I always get the standalone flash player updates from MS Update Catalog.

Btw, KB4015438 is superseded by KB4015217.

For what its worth. My KB5217 failed also on 4/12 and I went to the info page and read about the fixes and seemed ok to me so, on 4/13 I installed the stand alone 5217 and it installed fine with no problems so far. I am now on build 14393.1066 like u say. I don’t know anything about KB4015438 nor have I seen it listed in my updates or update history yet but, from reading Woodys site I was expecting the Creators edition on 4/13??? At least that was what I was understand with all the panic going on. Guess I was wrong or it will be coming whenever. Just gotta say that when I had 8.1 for about a year and a half I really got into Woodys and Windows Secret Newsletters and followed all the Defcons but, got to be too much. So, I went back to group A like I had been for the previous 10 yrs not know a d**n thing about Windows Updates. So, in the last 15 yrs of about 5 different OS I have never had one problem that I am aware of. Lucky??? I guess???? I am still here on this wonderful site and all the very brilliant people here and learn something every day. It is what it is sometimes but, good luck to all. Just waiting lol Good luck. Pat

Perhaps the regular full version releases are designed to overcome “screwed up system syndrome” by simply getting the user to start over.

At this point, what does the latest version do wrong that you don’t want it?
