Motherboards come with DVD’s that contain all sorts of goodies including the chipset drivers, etc.

With Win 10 delivering drivers as well as updates, do we now ignore the DVD and hope Win 10 will get it right?

No, you install W10 and then run the driver update on the DVD and install newer drivers, or go to the mobo website and load from there.

      cheers, Paul

Agree, as Paus says… you should really be downloading the latest drivers directly from the
manufacturer’s website. Disregard both the DVD and WU driver offers.

Don’t forget to check for latest BIOS updates as well, especially with a new board.
Downlaod everything before you begin so that they are ready when you are.

. Disregard both the DVD and WU driver offers.

      +1 for that.
And for another reason M/B install disks want to put all sorts of questionable software on you computer. For example my Gigabyte disk had a bunch of utilities that needed ‘AppCenter’ to install. That IMHO is a bloat I can do w/o.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

I just let Windows take care of it. Usually the DVDs come with drivers which are out of date, and for an earlier operating system. Always go with either the Windows drivers, or the ones on the website, NEVER the DVD unless you absolutely need to get something to work. One other thing. You can not avoid the Windows updates. So, they will load first, then check to see if there are new ones on the internet. But if something works, oftentimes there is no reason to update the driver. Unless you just want to, or there is a security issue.
