I have just finished installing windows 10 2004 feature update on a test laptop.

It killed my wifi, Ethernet and touchpad and I had to look for drivers for ‘unknown devices’ in Device manager.  It also lost my custom wallpaper.  However, it did not seem to reset any privacy setteings.  I am now going to restore from last disc image done this morning.

I’ve installed the v2004 update on one machine so far with a couple of minor issues:

      • Malwarebytes caused ‘Resolving Host’ issues in Chrome and ChrEdge and is now uninstalled.  Others have reported issues with Malwarebytes after installing the update.  It should be noted that ‘Resolving Host’ issues caused by Malwarebytes were reported prior to the v2004 update.
      • My Microsoft Account picture disappeared but was easily restored.
      • Microsoft insists on removing the Sidebar and Gadgets that I still use but again these are easily restored.  It irks me that Microsoft sees fit to remove software that it has absolutely no right to; the software isn’t a Microsoft product these days.  Yes, the Sidebar and Gadgets may no longer be supported by them but they are far better, less intrusive than the almost child-like tiles/apps.

Other than the above, all good so far.

You gave Microsoft the right to remove any software installed by accepting EULA.

An update on one of my issues above.  A reinstallation of Malwarebytes and update to the latest beta version resolved the issues.

Here’s a link to the Windows 10 EULA.  Please highlight anywhere that removal of non-Microsoft software (other than Malware protection) is agreed to.
