    Hi,

Using the notebook with XP at home (wireless) and a pc with Win7 as server is no problem.
Using the same notebook at the office (wired) with a pc with Win7 as server, it will not connect to that server.
Googled and tried many suggestions. Sometimes it can see the server, but the next day it can’t anymore.
Both networks have the same workgroup-name.
    Anyone any idea?

    TIA
    Sjors

Do you disable the wireless networking before attempting to connect via the wired connection?

can you access the server via \Server_nameshare or \your.Server.IP.addressshare ?

This may be a browsemaster issue and the easiest way to work around it (not actually resolve it), may be to create shortcuts directly to the share addresses as shown above instead of trying to browse to the share using network neighborhood.

      Hi Joe,
Sorry, didn’t notice this post was moved.
      No, I didn’t.
Shouldn’t be the problem because connecting with a wire will disconnect the wireless automatically.
Besides there’s no wireless connection there.
Browsing is allright with this wired connection, just the local network is not seen.

      tnx

      hi mercyh,

No can’t access that either. Already tried about 10 possible solutions on that matter, like modfying the registry and starting services. No luck.

BTW the suggested fix of MS made it work for 2 days, now I’m back from where I started.

      tnx
