You better check the health of your boot HDD.

      Use the free portable CrystalDiskInfo.

Create a full image backup copy immediately.

did that couple of days back, do u know how to fix it . its still trying to boot

        thankks

Boot into Safe Mode (hold down Shift when you click Restart).
If it boots fast there is probably a hardware / driver issue.
Check the Event Viewer for errors.

Shift is the key that give you upper case characters when you hold it down. Usually bottom left above Ctrl, bottom right under Enter.

You could do a hard shutdown (hold the power button in for 10 seconds).
Then press F8 lots after power on to get to the Windows boot menu.
If this still takes a long time it is a hardware/disk error.

Try powering off, disconnect the hard disk and power on.
Should take about 10 seconds to complain.

      cheers, Paul

nearly managed that pressing f8 but i think it might be wanting  f9, any way it gets to user profile then preparing windows at normal speed…..do u still thinkit could be a hard ware/disk error. then a taskbar and blank desttop and time/date etc.

      only onetep away from done

f9 is the boot menue , i got it quickly [no option for safe mode]

      thanx

You are right, F8 probably doesn’t work on W10/11.
See this post for ways to get to Safe Mode.
