    Hi all

How can I get Windows 10 ISO?

I somewhere read that I can copy the downloaded directory, but alas, after upgrading that directory disappeared

Now I am trying for three days to download the MS way! i.e. by downloading and running MediaCreationToolx64.exe but to no avail.

Have anybody direct link to Windows 10 Pro ISO?

    TIA

    Kamran

      Kamran,

You can get the files directly from Microsoft here. HTH

If you do it from an XP computer it seems to send you to the ISO download page rather that the MCT page

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

I’ve tried “MediaCreationToolx64” on 3 different computers … it never did a thing on any of them …
This piece of trash certainly does not inspire confidence in the whole upgrade scenario of scenarios !

There has got to be a direct download link somewhere, everything I’ve seen points to this useless tool.

Yes, I no longer have a computer with XP on it …

MS don’t want you to perform a direct download because it loads their servers unevenly. The MCT spreads the load and will use other PCs as a source of the files.

If I remember correctly, The problem with downloading the ISO from an XP or Linux computer is that those OS do not qualify for an upgrade and it will ask for a serial number and only offer a fresh install. If you don’t mind the extra work, try doing a fresh install of windows 7SP1 or Win8, activate and then upgrade. Back up all of your data first and be prepared to re-install your programs. Find your install media and keys first.

The ISO can be used on any PC. If you have a legal Win7 or 8.1 machines and you start the upgrade from within Windows you will not need a serial number. You only need a serial number if you upgrade from a non-qualified version of Windows or boot from an external device to perform the upgrade. NOTE: I said upgrade and mean upgrade not reinstall once you’ve upgraded.

“you start the upgrade from within Windows” you are right, I think I tried making a bootable USB with that ISO and then just stared at the screen for a few seconds before trying something else.
