I have installed Win7SP1 on two nodes: an HP laptop in 64 bit mode and an HP workstation in 32 bit mode. Both are fully functional with no problems. On the workstation there was an MSE update failure after the install, but that went away and the next MSE update (following day) worked. Nothing esoteric on either computer. Download sizes for SP1 was different between the two nodes (larger on the laptop 86 meg versus 64 meg). On both, most of the former optional updates went away from the Windows Update list. No new Office 2007 updates following the install (yet). The workstation uses MSE and Windows Firewall while the laptop uses ESET NOD32 and Online Armor.

If the game sites are dependent on a browser plugin such as Flash, try uninstalling Flash and installing the most current version.

Was your system up-to-date with patches before you installed SP-1?
