I am fairly new to Win 7 and have a question about saving the setting after I have everything to my liking.
Where is the file to save?
    Thanks

      Hi CR and welcome

There is no “file” to save. You can however (and should) use the built in backup application which saves an exact image of the operating system and your data if it is on the same HD. Type backup in search and look for the help files for instructions

What is it that you are trying to “save”? What do you mean by “everything to my liking”? In most cases, Windows and Explorer retain the latest configs (desktop look-and-feel, Explorer layout, etc.), but a lot of that goes into a variety of different locations.

      Thanks for the replies.
I do a image of C driver every night but I sometimes like to change fonts, background colors and drive icons. It would be easier to restore or replace a file that contains these than have to save a image, and then restore the whole image every time.
It’s no big deal but would make life nice.
      Thanks again
