I have to bring a machine up to date that hasn’t been updated for about a year.  It’s got ESU.  On its first pass, Windows update is recommending the 10/21 monthly rollup.  Will that include all patches since the last one installed?

I seem to recall that that’s the case, but would like confirmation before proceeding.

The October 2021 Monthly Rollup needs to be installed, and then that month’s SSU would then show up as needing to be installed for more recent Monthly Rollups. Alternatively, you could hide the October 2021 Monthly Rollup and have Windows Update look for new updates. The October 2021 SSU (KB5006749) should now show up for installation. After KB5006749 is installed, check Windows Update again. Now the latest Monthly Rollup should show up.

Thank you. I take that as a yes, that the monthly rollups are cumulative, and I don’t need to worry about the monthly rollups prior to 10/21.
