Hi folks, I have a colleague who is trying to install a phone dial up modem onto his home machine, it is prompting for the windows 2000 disc asking for a driver, however he does not have the disc, can anyone tell me which driver to install and if it can be found online maybe? Thank you

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody LoungerNovember 18, 2003 at 7:10 am #745182I can’t tell you precisely which driver it is, but usually, if you tap Escape and then choose Browse, once (s)he enters the File Open dialogue it will specify which file it is looking for. The only problem is that it is likely that that it will be looking for more than one file. Is this something that could be solved by copying over files from a laptop installation?

AskWoody LoungerNovember 18, 2003 at 7:36 am #745188Hi and thank you for responding. Its a situation where he purchased the machine from the company, a few months later left. It was loaded by a network computer with the 2000 O/S, so I am totally in the dark relating to a solution. I am guessing there is no way around him not having the O/S disc. It is not easy to locate one either, particularly since most people I know including myself are running XP now. I have been searching the web and MS pages, but unable to find an answer so far. Thank you for trying to help, thought I would post the question here as it is out of my league.
