In preparation of a new, clean installation of Windows 11 Pro, I’m wondering if folks here use apps like O&O, WinAero or others to get around some of the Windows 11 annoyances and limitations?  Or, perhaps you tweak some other way?

Plus, are these third party tweaker apps even safe (privacy, malware free) to use?

Interested in hearing your method(s) and opinion.

    Thanks,. Mike

I’ve been installing using Windows 10 Decrapifier during the OOBE which is customizable and also has worked fine on 11. I then use O&O Shutup very aggressively on my machines and less so on some client machines. I disable hibernation or at least turn off fast startup. From there I do some GPO and registry tweaks depending on who the machine is for. I’m very aggressive on my machines as I don’t use a cam, microphone, OneDrive, or most of the aggravating garbage (to my mind) MS has been adding. I use my machine for work so performance and security is important to me.

Make sure you download a new copy of O&O shutup.  The older one set an Edge setting that triggered them not to  open a week ago.
