Just upgraded my newly built Win 7 64bit PC to Win 10.

I noticed that for some reason Win 10 either doesn’t have it’s own logo (the white window), or they made a deal with ASUS.

    See the picture.

I think that if you turn off Secure Boot, the computer will load the Windows logo.

The picture was taken without secure boot. I’ve since changed to secure boot. No change.

OEMs have long had the ability to customize images used by Windows.

Could it be the Lock Screen that’s been changed? Check Settings>Personalisation>Lock Screen.

This isn’t an OEM PC. I built it from parts. Prior to Win 10 upgrade I got the Win 7 startup image. Perhaps some of the ASUS software (it’s an ASUS MB) that I installed (on Win 7) set this up.

I get the ASUS logo on my hand built box, not really an issue.

      cheers, Paul

The UEFI boot screen is stored in the BIOS. Intel has an Integrator Toolkit that allows editing the BIOS of an Intel motherboard to a certain extent, including replacing the boot screen image. It has to be a bmp image, and pretty small file size. I have my Burrowing Owl avatar for a boot image.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things.

      That looks pretty cool!

Thanks. I really don’t mind it, I was just curious.

I’ve been doing some research and quite a few people posted about this. It is definitely from UEFI boot. I think I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread that It showed up without UEFI boot. I was wrong. It was UEFI, just not secure boot.

There are many hits on google about how to change/customize the boot logo, but most only apply to legacy boot. So it must be in the UEFI.
