    Asus motherboard TUF X299 Mark 1 – 16GB RAM
    Intel Core i7-7820X Skylake-X 8-Core 3.6 GHz.
    Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB PCIe NVMe
    GPU: GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
    Win 10 Pro

    From an administrators Powershell window, I’m entering this PS code to reinstall the Microsoft store.

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

    Here’s what happens:

    Powershell-script-fail

    Suggestions?

      Have you tried via the settings interface?

      Settings> Apps> Apps & features
      Locate and click Microsoft Store then click ‘advanced options’ underneath, scroll to, and click the [REPAIR] button.

        I’d like to, but the MS Store is completely non-responsive.  When I click on the MS Store icon in the MS Start menu (both from the main left column and in the custom display) it’s completely dead.

          The quoted suggestion was for Settings> Apps> Apps & features.

      The package couldn’t be installed because the Windows Firewall service isn’t running. Enable the Windows Firewall service and try again.

        Yes, the error message is clear, thank you.  I use Bitdefender and even with all Bitdefender processes disabled, I’m unable to turn on the MS Defender firewall.

        I realize that if I want to get this fixed, I may have to completely uninstall Bitdefender so MS Defender will be fully operational.  Even then, I’m a little skeptical the Powershell code would do the job, but at this point I seem to have no choice.
