I received today an alert bar at the top of my http://www.outlook.com. It read along with a “learn more” link:

“Starting in February 2025, you will stay signed in automatically unless you sign out or use private browsing.”

With all the security needed these days, this makes no sense. I personally always sign out but many others don’t, so why encourage their lack of attention to security?

I do applaud MS for making me jump through hoops (3, yes, 3 factor auth) to sign on to my email so it seems inconsistent to leave me signed in, if I from time to time forget to sign out.

If you leave your laptop in an airport restaurant or someone hacks into it and it is signed into your MS account – well, you know!

For some time now it seems we’ve had another epidemic in the U.S.  A stupidity epidemic and it has gotten worse over the years.

Being 20 something in the 70's was so much better than being 70 something in the insane 20's

..and business is likely profiting from that epidemic, in other countries.

Windows - commercial by definition and now function...

perhaps clear/remove browser cache & cookies related to MS Outlook, which should also “forget” the login data to Outlook
