I have a database that is shared among 2 departments. One manager states that program is messing up and the information that is coming from the other department is incorrect. She seems to think there is something wrong with the database. I, however, feel like it is the users and they are not entering the information in a timely fashion. Let me get off of my soap box and ask my question.

Can I tell when a field was changed? I thought I could create a hidden text box and on click event, insert the currently date and time. Will this work? Is there another method for me to try?

    Thanks,
    Deborah

I often include two fields in a table: ChangedBy and LastUpdatedDt. The former is filled in automatically in my form by retrieving the username from the operating system and the latter by putting the current date into the field in the BeforeUpdate event of the form. I normally only do this when questions may arise as to who did it and when.
