For convenience, a shortcut to this template has been place on the user’s Desktop (Win NT).

When a user sends the completed message to a recipient, a copy is placed in the Sent Items folder (as I wanted) but the envelope icon indicates that the item is Unread unlike other items in that folder.

Even though I have right-clicked on it and selected the option to Mark it as Read, it does not change.

Althiough this is not a world-stopping event, I would appreciate some advice on how to VBA the icon to swap to a Read icon after the e-mail has been sent and ends up in the Sent Items folder.

    Thanks, Leigh

is it remaining bolded or just the icon not changing? custom forms don’t have a read icon, they just use one for both

Arrgh, why is this an inconsistent feature of the software?

I don’t believe this should be classed as a custom form and I reckon it’s envelope icon should act like any of the others. Users become confused if there are inconsistencies in the way applications (and their features) behave.

Further, I was hoping that some Lounger may have the answer in the form of VBA code to ‘modify’ the form (and the action of the envelope icon) to act like the standard templates in Outlook.

        But thanks for your reply…

it’s a mapi property – so if you are into hacking mapi, you can change it. I’ll have to look up which property controls it.

BTW – any form that has customization on it is a custom form. This isany form that is not one of the default forms installed with outlook.
