My company is always reinstalling Excel and I lose my toolbars. Unlike Word were I can save my normal.dot I cannot figure out were the toolbars are saved in Excel. Thanks for any help.

They are stored in a file with extension .xlb, probably in the Windows folder. It is either called Excel8.xlb or username8.xlb, where username is your network login name. If you save this file before reinstalling, and restore it to its original location afterwards, you should get your toolbar customizations back.

Please note that on at least some combinations of XL and OS versions it is necessary to double click on the .xlb file one time after copying it back to where it lives before XL will recognize it. Once you have double clicked on it once, XL should find and use it from then on automatically.

      hi,

search for *.xlb files and copy them to the same location.

      greetings,

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
