I just spent an hour seaching MS for the FP2000 server ext for a Win 2K server and can’t find them. I have a large FP site that is busted because INCLUDE pages with an HTM extension don’t actually get included in the publish. VERY ODD!!!

I published the site from IIS 4 to a win2k server that had both the 2000 and 2002 ext using FP2002 desktop and that went very well. This was to be the NEW test server. Now that the new PRODUCTION server is up and running with FP2002 only I tried to publish from the test server to the ne production server. First thing I noticed wrong was that the old HOVER bots didn’t work that was easy I just copied them over. Then I realized a NONE of the header and footer includes made the new server either.

Using a file comparison utility I confirmed that they were actually on the TEST server and not on the PROD. I was hoping if I installed the FP2000 ext and re-published all might get better. The only thing I could find for FP2000se on the MS was a download for versions before WIN2k and a vague reference to a new version which is unavailable. I also got pointed to a SECURITY ROLL UP package for Win2K sp2 since the server is already on SP3 that seamed like a really bad idea.

HELP ME IF CAN MY SERVER’s GOING DOWN… WON’t YOU PLEASE HELP ME, HELP MEEEEEE (McCartney or Lennon or Both??)

Sorry its been a long day

Ack, stop, nothing to do with server extensions. It’s an ISAPI issue.

Go to the IIS manager. Right click on the Root node for your server, and select properties. On the IIS tab, select WWW Service (under Master Properties) then click Edit. You should note this looks a lot like the properties for webs and subwebs on your server. This is just the master default page.

Go to the Home Directory tab, and click the configuration button near the bottom. This is the page that determines what extensions are used to trigger what ISAPI applications. For example, you should see .asp, and the executable path ends with asp.dll. That is the .dll that runs ASP code. If you click Add, then in the ‘new’ window, browse for the asp.dll, and put htm for the extension, you now can run .asp code within .htm pages.

The ISAPI .dll for includes is ssinc.dll. Add an item, with that .dll and the htm extension.

      Hope this helps!
