Where are my Favorites?

I seem to have lost access to my ‘Favorites’ on the menu bar and Start Menu in W95 (Should I post this there?). They show ‘favorites’ and the folders but not the actual shortcuts. The button on the bar in the IE5 window shows them in full, so does the directory in windows explorer. Does anyone have a remedy? Thanks.
