I started creating a bootable CD, but my computer asked for a flash drive when I assume it finished creating the CD. Do I have to do both options (CD/DVD and flash drive) for each set that I want to create? Secondly, is the bootable CD that I assume that I created bad? Or do I even need more than one set of bootable discs and or recovery flash drives? I know I need more than on backup of my computer. I just don’t know if it holds true for bootable CD and recovery flash drives. Can someone please help and or explain.

“I started creating a bootable CD,”

      How?? Why?? For what purpose??

Generally, EITHER a CD/DVD or a bootable flash drive is desired, but a little more detail would help us answer your question.

I went to create just a bootable CD in my CD/DVD drive. After a couple of minutes a screen popped up asking for a flash drive with at least 18 GB of space. I have Windows 10 version 2004 if this helps any.

I had read that CD/DVD disks make a more robust bootable option. Was I misled, what should I need in case my computer won’t boot up?

Here are your two threads with backup information:

In both instances, a link was provided with the basic starter kit for Windows 10 backups. The link is provided again here:
