I just migrated from Office 2010 (Windows 7) to Office 2019 Pro Plus (Windows 10). The latter no longer has the desktop version of OneNote, which has been replaced with OneNote for Windows 10, which is incompatible and works only with OneDrive.

Can I install just OneNote from the old Office 2010 DVD without installing the entire Office 2010 alongside Office 2019?  Would that solve my problem?

Would Evernote Basic (free) be a suitable solution?  Does it use local files instead of, or in addition to, cloud storage? The Windows version supposedly can import OneNote workbooks.

    Any other solutions?

    I’d greatly appreciate any input.
