AskWoody MVPAugust 7, 2023 at 9:29 am #2578220Anyone remember when Microsoft last provided a stable OS with easy and dependable networking to other devices in a local network?
In my experience, I have yet to encounter undependable networking with any version of Windows. At present I’m listening to a playlist from my Android phone through my PC speaker system, networked via Bluetooth with the Phone Link app. Phone Link launches automatically when I sign in.
My daily driver copies files, drive images, etc. to my NAS on regular schedules without interruption. I can retrieve files from my NAS via File Explorer on my desktop. I can watch movies from my NAS on one of my TV’s via WiFi through my Motorola MG7550 cable modem/router. It all works pretty flawlessly for me.
My desktop Windows installation is well-modified, but my NAS Windows installation is plain vanilla Microsoft-supported with the exception of deleting the Special Folders from File Explorer and the registry. But yeah, it all works together just fine.
Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things. We were all once "Average Users".

AskWoody MVPAugust 7, 2023 at 10:55 am #2578250@bbearren -With respect, this doesn’t appear to be the same experience of people posting here asking for help about home network interconnectivity, for many, many years… since Windows 7 AFAIK.
That’s my point. That some people have problems does not mean that everyone has the same problems.

AskWoody MVPAugust 7, 2023 at 1:23 pm #2578279Microsoft Loop is a piece of the Microsoft 365/Office 365 suite. Their development efforts are different from the OS side of the house. The Office development team(s) have their own set of issues without being bashed for OS shortcomings.
