Brand new computer with Windows 11 Pro (OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Pro; Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631, 23H2). Quick Assist is not on the machine. When I use the shortcut keys, I’m told to look in the Microsoft Store for a suitable program.

I presume I can install QA from the Microsoft Store, but I also recall that this installation is per user.  I’d like to avoid that hassle.

Does anyone have a current method for installing Quick Assist for all users?  (There is an old method but Microsoft has killed it).

I thought the theory was that it would still be included with Windows 11, although updated via Microsoft Store:

Will Quick Assist only be available in the Store going forward?

The Quick Assist Store app is pre-installed on Windows 11, version 22H2. It will then be updated through Microsoft Store.

On supported versions of Windows 10 and 11, you can install the latest Windows updates to get the original version of Quick Assist running on your PC.

Once upon a time, it was possible. However, the first step was downloading in install package.   This is no longer possible because Microsoft shut down the website which hosted the download.   It may still be possible if one has an entire Microsoft infrastructure at one’s disposal but mere mortals don’t have such a luxury.

The problem turned out to be the Windows install package on the computer.   The machines were from GMKTec (nice computers, BTW) but I’ve seen the same issue on another machine from Blackview.  None of these machines had Quick Assist installed even for the initial user.

It looks like the machines shipped with a different regional version (English International?) of Windows (as indicated by the list of languages available on the install screen).   I reinstalled Windows 11 Pro from an English US ISO I downloaded from Microsoft and Quick Assist is available to all users of the machine.

Other than the time needed to reinstall Windows and track down the necessary drivers, it was a non-event.  Plug for GMKTec: they have a single ZIP of ALL the drivers needed for their machines,  This makes it simple to install drivers that Windows couldn’t, particularly for the obscure unknown devices that give not a hint as to what they are.
