I’ve looked at both of these:

    https://www.techrepublic.com/article/the-complete-list-of-windows-logo-keyboard-shortcuts

    /https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keyboard-shortcuts-in-window s-dcc61a57-8ff0-cffe-9796-cb9706c75eec#WindowsVersion=Windows_10

And neither has windows-key-Q listed. What it opens is this strange window,

    win-q
and it locks the focus on it until you close it.

The Windows key-Q combination is supposed to open Windows Search, and that appears to be what you have in the screenshot above in your original post.

      Per XDA Developers (https://www.xda-developers.com/windows-10-keyboard-shortcuts/)

Windows key + S or Windows key + Q – Open Windows Search. You can search for files, apps, and search the web here.

I added the bolding above for emphasis. In Windows 11, that key sequence opens Quick Assist instead.

Ah thanks.  I didn’t even know there was a “windows search”  I think that now that I know about it I’ll probably forget about it :o)

How odd that that the XDA-developers knows about it but support.microsoft.com doesn’t.

MS’s support site only mentions the Windows+S key sequence for Windows Search. MS’s only mention of Windows+Q is in the Windows+Ctrl+Q sequence, which opens up Quick Assist in Windows 10.
