…I always liked Partition Magic some time ago but it’s gone…

After the demise of Powerquest’s Partition Magic and DriveImage (thankyou very much Symantec, NOT) I searched for replacements for several months and eventually found BootIt Bare Metal

BootIt Bare Metal is not free. I purchased a licence in 2008 and have since not had to fork out any more hard-earned whenever I upgrade to the latest version.

Includes “Image for DOS” which is a far more reliable imaging program than any program that runs under Windows (dons helmet and retreats into trench, incoming!).

I use the free GPARTED bootable CD, it is based upon a version of Linux.

Before you wonder "Am I doing things right," ask "Am I doing the right things?"

I use AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro (V5.6) and have found it excellent. Of particular use is its ability to convert GPT disk to MBR disk and vice-versa — very useful in terms of changing from a Legacy to a UEFI Booted system (the conversion process can be carried out in a few minutes without any OS or software having to be uninstalled/re-installed. A big time-saver. Of course, one would most likely only have to do this once with one’s setup, but the time and effort saved is well worth the cost of AOMEI (in my opinion, anyway!) The tutorials that come with the software are excellent.

My Rig: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core CPU; ASUS Cross Hair VIII Formula Mobo; Win 11 Pro (64 bit)-(UEFI-booted); 32GB RAM; 2TB Corsair Force Series MP600 Pro 2TB PCIe Gen 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD. 1TB SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 NVME SSD; MSI GeForce RTX 3090 VENTUS 3X 24G OC; Microsoft 365 Home; Condusiv SSDKeeper Professional; Acronis Cyberprotect, VMWare Workstation Pro V17.5. HP 1TB USB SSD External Backup Drive). Dell G-Sync G3223Q 144Hz Monitor.

I like the free versions of the following:

        Minitool Partition Wizard
        AOMEI Partition Assistant
