• What do I update to? (IE 5.00)

I know that it needs to be updated, but the MS web site has me so confused … I am at a loss. I have a Pentium III (750MHz) and am running Win98.

Can someone please tell me what I should be downloading for an update. Any update issues I should be concerned about before they occur?

    Thank you.

Well, I can tell you that I.E. 5.5SP2 is perhaps the most stable version of the browser. I have yet to notice a significant change between it and v.6.x.

I can tell you that some websites have yet to deal with version 6.x compatibility issues. (I konw they exist, but am not sure what they are..)

So, if you’re looking for less headache, i’d recommend 5.5SP2. Most of the original bugs in that release have since been corrected, and I had virtually no problems with it.

      Hope that helps!

Once you told me which version to use, the process was so simple, I’m embarrassed that I dreaded the thought of doing this and waited so long.
        Thank you very much!
