I am looking for documented problems that people have had with having a duel install environment in Office. In particular, I’m interested in finding out what problems to expect in a legal environment with Outlook 2003 and Office XP. The more issues the merrier, so if you are aware of one, send it my way!! Thanks!!!

Outlook 2003 will replace OL XP. They cannot co-exist. Also, Word XP cannot be used as the e-mail editor. See this thread .

Rebel has pointed out the main problem; other than that, different Office versions can co-exist without duelling. The rules of the game are:
      – Always install the oldest version first, so Office XP first, then Outlook 2003 (and other parts of Office 2003, if desired.)
      – Install the versions in different folders. With Office XP and 2003 this is standard.

One other (minor) issue is that the Windows installer will run when you swap from one version to another – eg if you have been using word 2003 and then use word 2002 the windows installer will fire up – it only takes a few seconds. Other than that all is fine.
