I’ve installed everything (W8.1 + Office 2007) apart from the 2018-03 rollup (like 2018-02 and 2018-01, no Meltdown patching for me yet) and there are no issues here. But I don’t use Office almost at all at this computer.

Anyone know if KB4088875 (the pulled W7/Server2008) is stull pulled (so shows up unticked), or has MS put it back in WU?

March 23rd, 09.30 am CET: Win7 32 bit: kb4088875 does not show up, not even as there-but-unticked. Regkey is present. So I think it is still pulled.

For some users KB4088875 is listed in Windows Update but unticked by default, while for others it is not shown at all. I’ve personally seen both of these cases.

And before installing anything, make backups first.

      Office 2013+ Windows 8.1+ March updates=Working perfectly

OK, I need some W10 updating advice.  I’m new to W10 and trying to learn the update ins and outs.  New W10 1709 Home Dell set to metered connection…first monthly update cycle.

Yesterday, in Settings>updates I had three updates listed as “awaiting download”…the March 2018 Cumulative Update (KB4088776), MSRT, and the March Flash Update (KB4088785).

Following Woody’s instructions, I ran wushowhide and hid the March Cumulative update; all went as expected and I got the final “fixed” message indicating that it was hidden.  At this point I assumed that I would then be able to just update MSRT and Flash while leaving KB4088776 safely hidden.  NOT SO!  As soon as I set metered connection to “off” this “hidden” update commenced to download and install!  What did I do wrong???

Thankfully, this install went well, but I might not be so lucky next time.  I was counting on wushowhide to allow me to defer next month’s 1803 without blocking other updates.  If turning off metered connection opens the flood gates, then I have an all or nothing choice to make.  What should I have done (or assumed) differently???

      Thanks!

      Hi Woody,

Do you see upgrading the MSDEFCON level to 3 more likely during Easter long weekend or more towards the end of the first week of April? I’m trying to plan my visit to my family/relatives’ place so that I can help them patch, lol

I was thinking the MS-DEFCON level should be at “1” especially for Windows 7 users because of the problematic KB4088875 & KB4088878 updates causing so many problems than fixing them. so far Microsoft has not issued any newer fixes for these buggy March 2018 updates for Windows 7.
