      Huh, and here I hardly realized we were gone. I guess the features were somewhat limited but are now all here again. Good work to the site developers who navigated through the rocks.

      Here’s hoping for a smoother ride forward, and that the site continues to provide ever more of what people need and want to discuss.

      Nice! Especially the search feature.

      But, for some reason, maybe because Woody’s is still coming on line, the pages are reeeally slooow to load at the moment (Thursday, at around 10:00 AM EST).

      Problem is not in my machine or browser(s), as other sites are getting loaded normally.

      Ex-Windows user (Win. 98, XP, 7); since mid-2017 using also macOS. Presently on Monterey 12.15 & sometimes running also Linux (Mint).

      MacBook Pro circa mid-2015, 15" display, with 16GB 1600 GHz DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SSD, a Haswell architecture Intel CPU with 4 Cores and 8 Threads model i7-4870HQ @ 2.50GHz.
      Intel Iris Pro GPU with Built-in Bus, VRAM 1.5 GB, Display 2880 x 1800 Retina, 24-Bit color.
      macOS Monterey; browsers: Waterfox "Current", Vivaldi and (now and then) Chrome; security apps. Intego AV

        Thanks for your “speed” comment. I was fearing that the slow response was the fault of my own internet connection and/or equipment. And, Woody, even a slow response is appreciated for all the information you provide!

        I’m very concerned about the speed.

         

        Wonder if all of the widgets on the right are dragging the page down?

         

        I’m not having any problem, but we aren’t yet fully ramped up for the day.

          Pages are taking a few seconds longer to start loading, but it loads up correctly and all. Nice to see the site back to what it was before! 🙂

            FYI Woody, it’s still taking your site a bit longer to load initially, log-in takes longer, and switching between subjects and pages takes the longest – 15 seconds in some cases.  While this is not tremendously inconvenient for me, your site has been faster before.

            Also, I’m using Firefox 58.0.1, 64 bit now on my Win 7 box and am getting used to websites loading and running more quickly.  Please don’t consider this as a complaint by any means, I just thought you would want to know.

            Thanks again for all you and your knowledgeable crew do.  It must be a tremendous burden to keep up with it all!   🙂

      I had the impression the site kept having issues until Woody switched to the latest server, which seemed a lot better than the previous one and then I didn’t have issue for a long time except maybe sometimes the page caching problem, but it has been solved for me for a while.

      Maybe you were victim of the popularity of your site, Woody?

        I think we got hit with an attack last October. Can’t prove it, but the upgrading of all the components, plus the much faster server should help. I hope.

      Is it now time to give up on mail notifications to Outlook.com addresses, or might there still be hope down the line?
