    Hi.

Anybody able to shed some light on a font weirdness? I have Arial 9pt configured as my ‘compose’ font, and use HTML as the format for outgoing emails.

Today, out of the blue, text which I have composed in Arial arrives at destination as Times New Roman. A test email with one line of Arial and one line or TNR comes out as all TNR…….

Where one cuts and pastes text to create messages for prospective clients, this is a recipe for disaster, made all the worse as I cannot ‘see’ that something is amiss. hairout

Have you tried re-starting your computer? This sounds like it could be a temporary ‘hiccup’ that could be remedied by a re-start.

Thanks for the thought – tried that…..

FYI – I’ve come up with a workaround which seems to have solved the problem: Tools/Options/Compose/Stationery – select Mail, and select ‘blank’ as a stationery type.

Voila – no fancy background, and messages are composed in Arial 10pt. exclamation

I know Arial in a standard Microsoft font but does the recipient of your email actually have the Arial font on their computer? My OE default font is TNR. If anyone sends me an email with a fancy font that I haven’t got on my system the email shows up as TNR. When I make HTML stationery and use a fancy font I usually embed an EOT in the stationery to make sure the recipient sees the stationery as intended.
      Cheers, Di
