Hi all. All of a sudden every time I try to log on to a web site [any web site] the search opens to HP, I then have to hit the “Back” key on my keyboard for it to revert to the site requested. Any idea what might have induced this annoying fault & how might I prevent it from happening please. Thanks Dave.

Do you have the LinkExtend add-on? It is mentioned as causing this problem in [post=”791513″]Post 791513[/post].

Thanks Hans…. yes I do in fact have the said LinkExtend add-on, read the link you suggested and noted the last post which mentioned a temporary fix. Well, I did a search for the URL mentioned BUT the search came up negative. see screen-shot. I really don’t know the purpose of the add-on LiveExtend, what benefit does it serve or should I delete it? Bobjacq in his post dated 31st Aug. indicated it as being worth having & hoped FireFox would get the anomaly fixed ASAP. Seems they have not so what do you suggest? Thank you again. Dave.

PS hope this is the correct way to add attachments rather than on the same line! I know a previous post of mine was edited because I had slipped up on this point but can’t remember what I did wrong. sorry.

The page he mentioned was http://www.google.com/firefox, not http://www.google.com.firefo as in your screenshot.

The LinkExtend (not LiveExtend) add-in provides information about websites, such as whether it’s safe, how popular it is etc. – see LinkExtend – The Ultimate Browsing Tool.

And yes, the screenshots came out OK this time because you placed them on two different lines instead of on the same one.

Thanks Hans…. I entered the URL with the “x” added to the end [which I must have missed when I copied it!] and “YEP” the search does in fact not prevent the search defaulting to the HP page so thanks, I have added the full URL to my favourites folder to use instead of the original one -till Firefox puts things right-. Thanks for letting me know that when sending more than one attachment they should be entered on Separate lines to avoid scrolling. Regards Dave.
