Links within a web page no longer work (I am using Windows Internet Explorer, Version 8.0.76 in Win7, 32-bit). Links at the top of a page associated with the site as a whole work, just the in-page links do not.

I loaded several programs that I purcharsed recently, a couple worked, one is erratic and I am not using, and the other did not work at all (turned out it was not useable on Win 7).

Appreciate any thoughts on what to try.

    Thanks.

Are the programs Windows 7 compatible?

You could try uninstalling them one at a time and see if that fixes the issue.

        Joe.

I have that lined up to do if I don’t find something that will fix it otherwise. Definitely will remove the nonworking one(s). I’m afraid a file in windows has been corrupted and removing a program will not fix it.

        Thanks for your thoughts.

You could try running “SFC /SCANNOW” from an elevated command line.

I’m not sure whether you are saying this happens on all web sites, or just some web sites. Could the links in one part of the page be done with Flash? It might help to have a URL to a site that has the problem.

Have you checked to ensure you have not been infected by the apps you loaded? I would judt double check by running av and am scans with your favorite tools. Malwarebytes seems to get some good press.
