How the heck do you put a watermark in a Excel spreadsheet?

I believe a watermark is a function of your printer. Depending upon which brand/type you have, the print driver may or may not support it.

Select “Format>Sheet>Background…” and you can then choose a picture to display behind the cells. Unfortunately the background picture will not print so may not be suitable for your requirements.

Thanks Tony – but I do want it to print.

I have made watermarks in Excel. It is very difficult to control due to changing ranges to print, etc. You will find it difficult to center. What I do is create the watermark in Word (much easier) and then print it and reuse the printed sheet in Excel. Some printers don’t like to reuse paper but with me it is not a problem.

Great idea – thanks. I’ll do just that. This spreadsheet will never grow or shrink so I’m good to go!

              Again – thanks.

      Hi:
You can use a trick using the Camera Tool

      see the attached file
      (Sheet “Data” and Sheet “Print”)

        Cool – thanks!

You can put a graphic or picture in the header with enough carriage returns or line feeds to place the picture in the vertical center of the page You will need to format the picture first… making it very light (as a watermark should be).
