    I have a laptop trying to upgrade from win7 to win10. PC is compatible, then let’s continue, then a very brief screen saying that it is checking my PC and nothing happens. I thought you could upgrade online. What am I missing?

      The upgrade will happens when Microsoft decides it should. Do back up all your data before upgrading and be sure to have all your application installation files & product keys ready in case you find the upgrade breaks things – a fairly common experience.

      Use the Media Creation tool to create a USB drive with Windows 10 installer.
      This way, you can force the upgrade.
