Want Outlook 2010 calendar to share data with Google calendar

I have Outlook 2010 which is set up to interact with my Gmail account using a POP connection and it works perfectly. Now, I want to make Outlook 2010 calendar share data with Google calendar. I’ve seen a reference to a Google Sync utility, but the Google web site says that they are phasing this out. Does anybody have a suggestion as to how to make my Outlook & Google calendars share data in both directions?

I’ve used gSyncit, costs $20, but gives a lot more features than Google Sync ever had (contacts, tasks, calendars etc). Updated to support Outlook 2013 and Win8.
