Hi Everyone

For all those who can’t wait a second longer for this year to be over, you have to.
It seems that a leap-second is going to be added midnight on 31-Dec-2016.
So, my clock is going to go..
23:59:59
23:59:60
00:00:00

..my question is, do I get the extra second here in Newcastle before my friends in New York get theirs????
..what if I’m flying overnight – who is synchronising all the GPS stuff?

Just to be safe, I’m closing down all my files with Excel OnTime events until after Jan 1st

You certainly don’t want to be flying at that moment . . . if the plane’s clock changes before yours, you will shoot forward about 900 feet whilst it pauses in mid-air for a second.

Might be wise to sit right at the back of the aircraft, or at least behind someone who will be soft to crash into.
