W11 23H2 April Updates threw ‘class not registered’

Dear Susan,

I have Windows 11 23H2, which was running perfectly after the March update.

I have just updated Windows with the April update, fearing the bugs that it squashes.  After the reboot, it threw the following error message when Windows reappeared:

shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.CommandPalette_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App

Class Not Registered

I have no idea what this means, whether it is a problem, and how to fix it if it is.

I rebooted, and it did not recur, so I can probably forget about it. But I thought it was worth reporting it to you as you evaluate your excellent patch reliability reports.

It’s a bug in the latest version of PowerToys; can be ignored until fixed:

This error message pops up. If the message is closed, the app can be launched and no issue occurs but on machine startup or installation, the error displays.

This error apparently goes away after updating version 0.90.0 to 0.90.1:

Thanks very much for that.  Now I know why it appeared and then went away, and why I can  now ignore it.

No, it doesn’t.

I still have it and I’m on 0.90.1
